As core equipment ensuring continuous power supply to critical loads, the operational reliability of high-voltage diesel generator sets highly depends on scientific and standardized maintenance cycle management. Unlike ordinary low-voltage units, their voltage level is high, power is large, and system complexity is significantly increased. Improperly set maintenance cycles can not only shorten equipment lifespan but also affect power supply safety at critical moments. Therefore, formulating reasonable maintenance cycles based on equipment characteristics and operating environment is the primary task of operation and maintenance management.

The maintenance cycle of high-voltage diesel generator sets needs to comprehensively consider multiple factors such as operating time, load rate, environmental conditions, and manufacturer technical specifications. Generally speaking, basic maintenance can be divided into three levels: daily inspection, periodic maintenance, and in-depth overhaul. Daily inspections should be performed daily or per shift, focusing on monitoring operating parameters such as oil level, water temperature, voltage, and frequency, and observing for abnormal noises, oil leaks, abnormal exhaust, etc., to ensure the unit is in an immediately usable condition. This type of inspection does not require shutdown but can effectively detect early potential problems and prevent small faults from developing into major issues.

Periodic maintenance cycles are typically measured in operating hours or calendar months, commonly categorized as every 250 hours, 500 hours, 1000 hours, and annually. A basic maintenance service, performed every 250 hours or 3 months, primarily includes changing the engine oil, oil filter, and air filter, and checking belt tension and battery status. A medium-level maintenance service, performed every 500 hours or 6 months, adds fuel filter replacement, coolant level check, and spark plug cleaning (if applicable). A deep maintenance service, performed every 1000 hours or 1 year, involves injector calibration, valve clearance adjustment, and high-voltage circuit insulation testing, and must be performed by qualified technicians. It is important to emphasize that if the unit operates for extended periods in harsh environments such as dust, high humidity, or salt spray, the maintenance cycle should be appropriately shortened; for example, a thorough inspection of the air filter and cooling system should be performed every 200 hours to prevent contaminants from accelerating component wear.

Annual comprehensive overhaul is a systematic assessment of the unit's health status. In addition to recurring periodic maintenance items, it requires insulation withstand voltage tests on the high-voltage windings, circuit breakers, and control systems; verification of the operational accuracy of protection devices; and structural safety checks on the base and vibration damping devices. For standby units, even if they have not been started for a long time, a no-load test run should be performed monthly to prevent starting failures caused by battery depletion or lubricating oil sedimentation.

Scientific and reasonable maintenance cycle management can reduce the probability of sudden failures and optimize total lifecycle costs. Maintenance personnel need to dynamically adjust plans based on equipment ledgers and operating records to avoid resource waste caused by "over-maintenance" or safety risks caused by "delayed maintenance." Only by integrating cycle management into daily operations can high-voltage diesel generator sets always safeguard the energy lifeline in optimal condition.
